Adjoa Adjei-Twum is a recognised expert in governance, anti-corruption, risk management, and financial crime, with nearly two decades of experience across global banking, regulatory compliance, and cross-border investment risk spanning Africa and international markets. She is the Founder and President & Chief Executive Officer of EBII Group Corp., a Washington, D.C.–based public benefit corporation focused on risk management, cross-border advisory, and strategic engagement with senior institutional stakeholders across government, finance, and industry. She also serves as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the EBII Foundation, where she leads initiatives focused on enterprise readiness and workforce development, supporting SMEs and individuals seeking employment opportunities through structured programmes that leverage the broader institutional network of EBII Group. Under her leadership, EBII convenes senior decision-makers through high-level policy dialogues and strategic convenings, including the African Leaders & Partners (ALP) Summit in Washington, D.C., which brings together government officials, investors, multilateral institutions, and business leaders to engage on investment, governance, and economic development. Over the past several years, Adjoa has convened and led high-level dialogues in the United States and the United Kingdom involving heads of state, senior policymakers, regulators, development finance institutions, and private sector leaders. These engagements focus on strengthening governance frameworks, improving investment confidence, and supporting responsible capital mobilisation across emerging markets. Prior to founding EBII, Adjoa held senior roles across global financial institutions and professional services firms including Barclays, HSBC, Citi, UBS, and KPMG, serving in positions such as Vice President, Director, and Global Head across financial crime compliance, sanctions, anti-money laundering, regulatory assurance, and complex investigations. Her work has included involvement in major international financial investigations and collaboration with U.S. and UK regulators on complex cross-border financial crime and risk matters. Adjoa is a frequent commentator on governance, investment risk, and Africa’s role in the global economy. She has appeared on CNN, BBC World News, BBC Africa, CNBC Asia, and Sky News, and has contributed thought leadership to Oxford Answers, the University of Oxford’s publication.
