Anthony Triolo is currently a consultant at Glasshouse Initiatives, a international development firm advancing the rule of law and good governance on a global scale. He is a Senior Government Relations Specialist with over 20 years of experience, including in the Global South. His expertise also includes transitional justice, rule of law, access to justice, and sustainable development. He was most recently the Strategic Initiatives Director at the Rule of Law Collaborative (ROLC) where he served as the Project Director for several US government funded projects. He previously served as the Senior Program Officer at Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies where he led efforts to increase access to justice across the globe, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa working with governments, civil society organizations, donors, and international organizations. He has also served in senior roles at various United Nations organizations and international organizations in Rome, Italy; The Hague, Netherlands; and Freetown, Sierra Leone.
At the request of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Triolo served as a Senior Advisor to an International Task Force on Justice co-chaired by Ministers from the Netherlands, Sierra Leone, and Argentina, to advance global policy on justice for all and people-centred justice. He led efforts at ROLC regarding the organization of a summit in 2019 of the Ministers of Justice of 20 g7+ conflict-affected countries to advance people-centred justice and counter corruption. The summit resulted in the adoption of the first ever g7+ Declaration and Joint Action Plan on Equal Access to Justice for All in Conflict-Affected countries, signed by the Justice Ministers of 14 countries, and presented at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in 2019.
At the Special Court for Sierra Leone, a UN-backed war crimes tribunal, Triolo served as the Head of Office in New York, serving as the chief liaison between the Court and the UN and donors. He also spearheaded an effort to raise visibility of the Court’s achievements amongst key donor countries in the US and Europe.
He has a MBA from the Said Business School at the University of Oxford where he received the Dean’s Award for the Highest Academic Achievement. He also has a BA from Yale University.
