Biography

Admassu Tadesse has been serving as Trade and Development Bank
Group President and Managing Directorsince 2022. Prior, he led
PTA Bank, and its evolution into TDB, and previously served as
Executive Vice President for International Finance and Corporate
Strategy with the Development Bank of Southern Africa.

Under his leadership, TDB Group has expanded into several new and under served markets, with new strategic business units and subsidiariesto bolster impact, reach and sustainability, and total assets growing about 10-fold toUSD 10 billion in 202 4. Its equity capital has also multiplied manifold, with itshareholderbase more than doubling.

A recipient of several distinctions and awards, including African Banker of the Year twice in 2019 and 2024 , Tadesse also serves on several boards of directors and industry bodies, in various capacities, mainly in Africa, but also Europe, the U.S. and Asia. He is an alumnus of the London School of Economics, Western University, Wits Business School, and Harvard Business School.
